Jackie joined Wait & Haxby (later to become Minster Veterinary Centre) in 1989 as a receptionist and nursing assistant, and she is still here all these years later as Practice Manager. Her main focus is client care and ensuring the practice gives the best possible service to its clients and their pets.
Jackie also has the mammoth task of looking after the ever-growing MVC team (65 at the last count!).
In her spare time, she enjoys socialising with friends and walking her (sometimes reluctant) Bull Terrier, Mabel!
David is the practice owner. He graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1985 and has a keen interest in production animal medicine. David is based at our Southwell practice.
Amy graduated from Edinburgh University and has a keen interest in small animal surgery and medicine. Amy is currently studying for her Advanced Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Medicine.
Amy works three days at our Southwell practice and occasionally at our Calverton branch.
Peter graduated from Bristol University, and is the Companion Animal Clinical Manager. He has special interest in all aspects of small animal surgery and continues to maintain an interest in production animal health planning and medicine – but rarely spends time out on farm these days. Peter splits his time between our Southwell and Newark practices and continues with a clinical role within the practice as well as his managerial duties.
Annie works from our Fernwood and Newark branches four days a week and has a keen interest in small animal medicine and diagnostics.
Jyoti graduated from Bristol University and works primarily from our Burton Joyce branch with the occasional day at our Newark Branch. Outside of work, Jyoti enjoys salsa dancing, gardening and looking after her cats.
Becky qualified from the University of Cambridge and worked in mixed practice in Lincolnshire for two years before moving to Southwell with her two rescue cats Frida and Tayto. Becky primarily works out of the Southwell and Calverton branches. Becky particularly enjoys small animal surgery, emergency work for both small animal and equine cases and equine wound care. In her spare time Becky plays the clarinet in a local wind band and attending music festivals – and occasionally manages to attend yoga classes in an attempt to keep fit!
Madeleine qualified from Liverpool University and has a keen interest in all aspects of mixed practice.
Paul graduated from Glasgow University and is a certified veterinary ophthalmologist and BVA panel member. Paul is based at our Southwell branch three days a week and accepts external referral work from surrounding practices.
Davina works from our Southwell and Calverton practices, and has a keen interest in small animal medicine and diagnostics. She has a certificate in Small Animal Medicine and hopes to start working on a Small Animal Cardiology certificate soon.
Mark is our large animal clinical manager. He graduated from Edinburgh University and has a keen interest in both equine and production animal medicine. Mark is based at our Southwell practice.
Rachel is our lead vet at our Newark practice and enjoys all aspects of companion animal work. She especially enjoys soft tissue surgery and has a keen interest in small furries- rabbits in particular. In her spare time Rachel loves walking with her scruffy border terrier; Whiz. She is also a keen Latin dancer and teaches Bachata on a weekly basis!
Emma graduated from Cambridge University. Outside of work she can usually be found exploring the Nottinghamshire countryside on her bike or walking her stubborn rescue dog, Todd. She enjoys all aspects of mixed practice with a particular interest in camelid medicine and tends to be based at our Newark and Fernwood branches.
Greg qualified from Cambridge University and has worked as a mixed vet for his whole career. Greg enjoys the weird, wonderful and often challenging variety in his work, within the important framework of good interactions and communications with clients. Downtime usually includes gardening, outdoors exercise or time with friends, but is often filled by his better half and their cat, O’Malley.
Harvey graduated from Liverpool University and prior to joining the Minster Veterinary Centre spent time working on the Yorkshire coast, including working with rescued seals. Harvey works as a mixed vet within the practice at the Newark and Fernwood branches.
Ellie graduated from the University of Liverpool and has returned to the area having grown up around Southwell.
She works as a mixed vet within our practice, mainly from the Southwell and Calverton branches.
Katie has worked for Minster Veterinary Centre for over 10 years. She is one of our two Head Nurses and has keen interests in clinical coaching of student nurses and medical nursing. She is an active pet health counsellor and runs various nurse clinics. Outside of work she enjoys horse riding and spending time with her husband and two children.
Jack is a qualified veterinary nurse who works predominantly from our Southwell practice.
Jadine works across several of our practices, and is one of our regular clinic nurses.
Lucinda is a qualified veterinary nurse and works primarily from our Burton Joyce practice.
Kelly qualified as an RVN in 2009 and was a head nurse for the past 5 years at her previous job. Kelly enjoys all aspects of nursing but especially likes wound management and orthopaedics. She is always wanting to learn more and would love to do a certificate in anaesthesia. Kelly is married and has a 4 year old son and a whippet cross called Noggin.
Anita has recently been awarded a “Certificate of Canine and Feline Veterinary Health Nutrition” with an Outstanding Distinction – the highest grade possible! She also has a certificate in Exotics Nursing.
Tillie qualified as an RVN with us in 2019 having gone through her training with us. After a brief stint with Pride referrals Tillie returned to us to work from our Bingham and Burton Joyce surgeries.
Having completed her ANA qualification, Frankie has enrolled at Bottle Green Training to become a fully qualified RVN.
Hannah is currently training as a veterinary nurse, she works from our Southwell practice.
Shanice has recently joined our practice as a student veterinary nurse.
Phillipa is an RVN in both small animal and equine. She is also a clinical coach and pet health counsellor. In work she enjoys surgical nursing and radiography work both in small and equine patients, alongside teaching and educating our student nurses and nursing assistants. Phillipa has a deep dislike for slugs & maggots of any nature! Her interests out of work include caring & competing my 2 horses, running long distance & socialising with friends when time allows.
Sarah is in her second spell as an RVN for Minster Veterinary Centre having realised she just couldn’t stay away! She works from our Burton Joyce practice. Outside of work Sarah enjoys motorsport, the theatre and drinking Pimms in the garden. She has two terriers and four rescue cats.
Jennifer works out of our Newark branch. She gained her BSc (Hons) Veterinary Nursing and Practice Management, and a certificate in feline nursing. She is also a qualified pet health counsellor.
Jo works primarily at our Southwell practice, and is one of our regular clinic nurses.
Ellisha is in her second spell at MVC after realising there is no better place to work! Ellie has a special interest in equine wounds and has further qualification in equine nursing.
Lorna graduated from Nottingham Trent University with an FDSC in Veterinary Nursing and is working towards her Bsc Hons. She has a Labrador called Winnie at home and has an interest in anaesthesia and enjoys nursing clinics.
Jenna qualified in 2007 and has worked in Australia and volunteered in Croatia and Morocco she has spent the last 5 years in a management role. Jenna joined the Southwell clinic in 2019 after having her daughter.
She enjoys medical nursing and nurse clinics Jenna is married and has a young daughter a golden retriever called Rhea and a lurcher called Percy.
Sarah works from our Newark surgery and in her spare time has performed Ballroom and Latin American dancing for over 20 years. She has three dogs that she enjoys taking out for walks, and also has two cats. She recently married so now has exactly the same name as one of our receptionists! She has been at Minster Vets since September 2010 as an Animal Nursing Assistant and has recently decided to start her full RVN training.
Rebecca is a student vet nurse who spends her spare time walking her two dogs, enjoys dancing, going to the theatre and holidaying when possible.
Katie has lived on a working farm all of her life, and is training to be a registered veterinary nurse. Katie has a Jack Russel and a Shetland pony and she enjoys sewing, crafts, socialising and exploring the countryside in her spare time.
Jade works from our Newark practice and is a student veterinary nurse.
Mr Wright retired from clinical practice but remains as an integral part of the practice management team. He keeps the cogs and wheels of our computer system turning.
Helen is one half of our Large Animal Reception team, working out of the Southwell branch. She really doesn’t want to have a profile on the website if possible…
Fiona works from both our Newark and Fernwood branches. She enjoys spending time with her family and dogs.
Sarah has worked at Minster Veterinary Centre for seven years on reception, mainly at the Southwell branch. She enjoys exercising (mainly out of work) and walking her Cocker Spaniel, Cub. She loves holidays in Norfolk and the Caribbean. She loves socialising with friends, cooking and reading.
Sara joined our reception team in 2010 from a background in customer service but has always had a great love of animals. She now is the main receptionist for our Fernwood branch.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family husband Tony and daughter Connie, walking her two Labradors Buddy (pictured) and Drake. She also has a rescue cat called Henry.
Jade joined the Minster Veterinary Centre in 2014. Jade enjoys working across our different practices, but is mainly based at our Newark branch. Jade’s main role is meeting all the clients and getting to know their pets. Jade has enjoyed owning many pets over the years which included dogs, cats, rabbits and fish.
Tracey works from our Newark branch. Originating from South Africa Tracey began her interest in veterinary work while attempting to herd cats, a skill set which is vital when working in veterinary reception.
Liz works at our Newark branch.
Gina works at our Calverton branch.
Emma is our accounts manager and works from our Southwell practice. She enjoys nothing more than a good health and safety assessment and inspection too!
Margaret (‘Mags’) is the other half of our Large Animal Reception team, and works out of the Southwell branch.
Lesley works at our Calverton branch. She has previously worked as a Veterinary Nurse at other practices. She has two horses, Billy & Charlie and loves hacking around countryside. She also loves guinea pigs and currently owns four!
Judy works from our Southwell surgery. She lives with her three children, and enjoys spending time with friends and family, walking her dogs, gardening and reading.
Sally works primarily at our Newark branch.
Rachel works at our Newark branch.
Abbie used to work from our Southwell branch as a nursing assistant, and now works as a receptionist at our Calverton branch. She recently completed a Canine and Equine Soft Tissue Massage qualification.
Jane works at our Calverton branch.
Leah works from our Southwell surgery. She lives on a large sheep farm and trains and trials her sheep dogs.
Jo works part time at our Bingham branch She lives on a farm and offers a home from home boarding service for well behaved dogs She has 2 dogs and 2 cats and enjoys walking, cycling and watching any kind of sport
