We are a fiercely independent, client friendly practice in Nottinghamshire with 4 fully functioning surgeries and two branch practices. We are continuing to expand our staffing levels to try and ensure a sensible workload. We have a bustling and friendly work place with a fantastic team attitude that we endeavour to prioritise. We have recently extended our Newark site and are in the process of extending our Burton Joyce branch to increase the routine surgical workload with the aim of increasing staff numbers there.
We have a great mix of experience with certificate holders, vets currently studying for certificates and several of us with 8-15 years experience who are happy with the shorter titles! We also have a very enthusiastic mixed team who cover the on call work currently with plans of 24 hour vet care at the Newark practice in the immediate future.
We have several vets who have undertaken the RCVS VetGDP training and with our surgical sites can offer a fantastic learning opportunity to a proactive graduate looking to start a career as a vet.
We would be looking to incorporate some evening and out of hours work on a rota basis to allow the range of situations to be experienced with the guidance and assistance of more experienced vets. As a mixed practice we are well versed in helping lead new graduates out into the big wide world of veterinary, we have had some wonderful feedback and testimonials from our new graduates over the past few years and we hope to continue with the same welcoming system of guidance and experience.
As you should expect from any good employer we are looking for people to fit in to a friendly and helpful team dynamic, who can be an asset to the practice while progressing both personally and professionally while enjoying a team atmosphere. We encourage clinical freedom and allow staff to find a role or niche they enjoy within the practice and all of our positions have the flexibility to adapt to areas of clinical interest and we expect roles to evolve over time.
As a practice we like to be progressive in our approach to diagnostics and as such have a very good range of diagnostic equipment with an appetite for investing in equipment that will be utilised.
We have an extensive range of toys; digital x-ray with dental xray, digital endoscope/rhinoscope, ultrasound, ECG, suction, k-laser, digital cytology, multiparameter monitors and recently upgraded Idexx lab equipment at all branches alongside an in house microbiology lab run through Southwell. We can perform in house orthopaedics including TPLO, have an in house cardiologist and a part time ophthalmologist and many other fantastic vets!
We encourage relevant CPD (on top of the VetGDP program) with a focus on areas of personal improvement and interest. We have a standard 5 days of CPD allowance and study for certificates is welcomed and funded as part of your CPD allowance.
We have returned to booking optional CPD evenings at local pubs with great food to keep you up to date with new products, the days of trying to squeeze in lunch and learns are gone!
Our New graduate package can include a house, car, work phone, home broadband/phone, vds cover and a society memebership
