Here at the Minster Veterinary Centre we are very fortunate to have our own Ophthalmologist. He is qualified to undertake BVA panel work and eye referral work.
He recently had the pleasure of helping a lovely Boxer dog called Maisie who was suffering from bilateral nictitans membrane prolapse (cherry eye). Surgery has previously been undertaken to replace one of the prolapsed glands before both had become an issue, but due to the anatomy of the eye had failed (not an uncommon complication).
Paul performed bilateral eye lid reduction surgery to replace the prolapsed glands and tighten the local tissue to keep the replaced glands in position.
Maisie sent us her before and after head shots to show us how pleased she was with her new look and is being compared to a young Joan Rivers…… I’m personally not sure if that is a compliment or not……
